A number of legislative initiatives debated in second reading at regular sitting of National Assembly
1 / 1

At the regular sitting of May 25, Parliament debated the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Military Service and the Status of Servicemen in the second reading. According to the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, the main objective of the draft is to improve the procedures and administration of general education, as well as basic education, for those studying in primary or secondary vocational education programmes without interruption until the end of their studies with the logic of providing continuous education. Discussing it with a special procedure aims to apply the improved procedures during the summer conscription. During the period from the first to the second reading, no proposals were presented on the draft.

The Deputy Chairman of the RA Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan presented the draft law on Making Addenda to the Law on Remuneration of Persons Holding State Positions and State Service Positions in the second reading. Certain technical and content amendments were made in the draft during the period from the first to the second reading. In particular, Article 14 of the draft law was proposed to be written with the following amendment: “A person holding an autonomous position in the Investigative Committee shall be given a surcharge in the amount of 92 % of the official rate in accordance with the procedure established by this law”. According to the next amendment, this law will enter into force on 1 June 2023.

The Head Committees endorsed the drafts debated in the second reading.
